David's 5 Stones

From Max Lucado’s book “Facing Your Giants”

                 ?  Why did David pick up 5 stones          

Using the fingers of my hand:   5 “Ps”

Thumb PAST   Remember the faithfulness of God in the past

Space between thumb and pointer finger – represents the valley between me and the giant.

Pointer finger – PRAYER (never face a giant without this)

Middle and longest finger – PRIORITY of the integrity of God’s Holy Name

Ring finger – PASSION  go toward the giant with the confidence of God’s presence and help.
Pinky finger – PERSISTENCE – David struck the giant with 1^st stone but he still had 4 more, not in case he missed but to strike other giants in Goliath’s family.
