More Than Meets the Eye

Hebrews 11:1  Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.

Faith is trusting what the eye can't see.
Eyes see the prowling lion.  Faith sees Daniel's angel.  Eyes see storms.  Faith sees Noah's rainbow.
Eyes see giants.  Faith sees Canaan.
Your eyes see your faults.  Your faith sees your Savior.
Your eyes see your guilt.  Your faith sees His blood.
Your eyes look in the mirror and see a sinner, a failure, a promise-breaker.  But by faith you look in the mirror and see a robed prodigal bearing the ring of grace on your finger and the kiss of your Father on your face.   Max Lucado, July 15 "Grace For The Moment"

Psalm 46

When life begins to crumble and you find yourself drowning in a sea of circumstances, when the world is swirling and the noise is deafening REMEMBER

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear …" (Psalm 46:1-2)

The pressure to embrace the fear is great!
But, our Refuge is even greater!
As believers it is possible to be strong and confident no matter what is happening in today’s headlines, in our families or in our personal lives.

Being Real With God...

Relax in MY peaceful presence.  Do not bring performance pressures into our sacred space of communion.  When you are with someone you trust completely, you feel free to be yourself.  This is one of the joys of true friendship.  Though I am Lord of lords and King of kings, I also desire to be your intimate Friend.  When you are tense or pretentious in our relationship, I feel hurt.  I know the worst about you, but I also see the best in you.  I long for you to trust ME enough to be fully yourself with Me.  When you are real with Me, I am able to bring out the best in You: the very gifts I have planted in your soul.  Relax and enjoy our friendship....Revelation 17:14; John 15:13-15

At The Feet Of Jesus...

“Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10

Sitting at Jesus’ feet and listening to His Word is a choice. Some things will not get done.
Some people will not understand.
But Jesus said it was the one needful thing
—the one thing which could never be taken away.
Because of what you learn from Him and of Him,
you’ll always have something to hang on to
—and it won’t be by your fingernails!

Jesus, our High Priest

"On the day when the Lord Jesus comes...all the people who have believed will be amazed at Jesus."  2 Thessalonians 1:10

"Jesus is the kind of high priest we need.  He is holy, sinless, pure, not influenced by sinners, and he is raised above the heavens."  Hebrews 7:26
