SHAMMAH - THE LORD IS THERE.  
THE LORD MY COMPANION

God revealed to Ezekiel that the name of the New Jerusalem shall be "the LORD is there."  

Through Jesus Christ, the Spirit of God dwells in us.

God's presence is not limited or contained in the Tabernacle or Temple, 
but is accessible to all who love and obey HIM.

THE LORD OF HOSTS

The LORD of the hosts of heaven 
will always fulfill HIS purposes, 
even when the hosts of HIS earthly people fail.

ROHI THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

Jesus is the good shepherd 
who lays down HIS life for all people.

The Lord protects, provides, directs, leads and cares for HIS people.  

God tenderly takes care of us as a strong and patient shepherd.

HIS NAME 13

RAPHA - THE LORD WHO HEALS

Jesus demonstrated that He is JEHOVAH-RAPHA 
in his healing of the sick, blind, lame and casting out demons.  
Jesus also heals HIS people from sin and unrighteousness.  (Luke 5:31,32)

God has provided the final cure for spiritual, physical and emotional sickness in Jesus Christ.  
God can heal us.

NISSI - THE LORD IS MY BANNER
Also known as YHWH-Nissi.  

Name of the altar built by Moses after defeating the Amalekites at Rephidim.  

Isaiah prophesies that the "Root of Jesse" (Jesus) will stand as a banner for the peoples. (Isaiah 11:10)

HIS NAME 11

MEKADDISHKEM  - THE LORD WHO SANCTIFIES

We have been set apart, made holy and redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.  

Therefore, we are to continue to live our lives holy and pleasing to God (1 Peter 1:13-25)

God sets us apart as a chosen people, a royal priesthood, holy unto God, a people of His own.  He cleanses our sin and helps us mature.

HIS NAME 10

JEHOVAH  "I AM,"  
THE ONE WHO IS THE SELF-EXISTENT ONE

God never changes.  
His promises never fail.  
When we are faithless, He is faithful.  
We need to obey HIM.

HIS NAME 9

IMMANUEL  GOD WITH US "I AM"

This name indicates that Jesus is more than man.  

He is also God.  Isaiah said that the child born to the virgin would be called "Immanuel."  (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6)  

He is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of HIS nature.  (Hebrews 1:3)

Jesus is God in our midst.  
In HIM all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form.

EL SHADDAI - 
THE ALL SUFFICIENT ONE, 
THE GOD OF THE MOUNTAINS, 
GOD ALMIGHTY

Some scholars suggest that Shaddai refers to God's power evident in HIS judgment.  
Others suggest that El Shaddai means "God of the mountains"  
God refers to Himself as "El Shaddai" when HE confirms HIS covenant with Abraham.

God is the all-sufficient source of all of our blessings.  God is all-powerful.  
Our problems are not too big for God to handle.

EL ROI  THE GOD WHO SEES ME

Hagar called the LORD by this name beside a fountain of water in the wilderness.  

God knows all of our  thoughts and feelings.  
Jesus knew the thoughts of those around HIM demonstrating that HE is EL ROI.  
(Matthew 22:18, 26:21,34; Luke 5:21-24)

There is no circumstances in our lives that escape HIS fatherly awareness and care.  God knows us and our troubles.

EL OLAM - THE ETERNAL GOD, 
THE EVERLASTING GOD

Jesus Christ possesses eternal attributes.  
He is the same yesterday and today and forever.  (Hebrews 13:8)  
He obtained eternal redemption for us.  
(Hebrews 9:12)

He is the Beginning and the End, 
the One who works His purposes throughout the ages.  He gives strength to the weary.

ELOHIM - THE ALL-POWERFUL ONE, CREATOR

This is the plural form of EL.  
This name is usually associated with God 
in relation to HIS creation.  

Some people use the plural word "Elohim" as proof for the Trinity (Genesis 1:26.  

It is also used to refer to false gods and even human judges. (Psalm 82:6, 7 and John 10:34)

EL ELYON - THE GOD MOST HIGH

The All-Powerful One - Creator
Melchizedek, the king of Salem and the priest of God Most High, referred to God as "El Elyon" three times when he blessed Abram.

He is the Sovereign God in whom we can put our trust.  El Elyon has supremacy over all false gods.

EL EOHE YISRAEL

God, the God of Israel

The name of the altar that Jacob (Israel) erected 
after his encounter with God 
and God's blessing upon him (Genesis32:24-30)

The God of Israel is distinct and separate from all false gods of the world.

EL - THE STRONG ONE

EL occurs more than 200 times in the Old Testament.  Generic Semitic name for God, used by other cultures to refer to their gods.  EL is used in compound proper names such as 
Isra-el (wrestles with God), 
Beth-el (House of God), and 
EL-isha (God of Salvation)

He is more powerful than any false god.  God will overcome all obstacles.  We can depend on God.

Exodus 15:2  "The LORD is my strength and my song; HE has become my salvation.  He is my God and I will praise HIM; my father's God, and I shall exalt HIM."

Be still (Cease striving) - It carries the idea of – stop struggling against, stop fighting; stop trying to figure things out. In other words we are to rest, relax, chill out, drop our weapons and stop fighting!

For most of us it is very hard to be still. When you are struggling with fear and feeling out of control you want to do something. You want to take matters into your own hands and do whatever it takes to “make it right” - in doing so we often find refuge in all the wrong places. We trust in ourselves or others rather than resting in God.

Hebrews 11:1  Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.

Faith is trusting what the eye can't see.  
Eyes see the prowling lion.  Faith sees Daniel's angel.  Eyes see storms.  Faith sees Noah's rainbow.
Eyes see giants.  Faith sees Canaan.
Your eyes see your faults.  Your faith sees your Savior.  
Your eyes see your guilt.  Your faith sees His blood.

Psalm 46

When life begins to crumble and you find yourself drowning in a sea of circumstances, when the world is swirling and the noise is deafening REMEMBER

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear …" (Psalm 46:1-2)

The pressure to embrace the fear is great! 
But, our Refuge is even greater! 
As believers it is possible to be strong and confident no matter what is happening in today’s headlines, in our families or in our personal lives.

Being Real With God...

Relax in MY peaceful presence.  Do not bring performance pressures into our sacred space of communion.  When you are with someone you trust completely, you feel free to be yourself.  This is one of the joys of true friendship.  Though I am Lord of lords and King of kings, I also desire to be your intimate Friend.  When you are tense or pretentious in our relationship, I feel hurt.  I know the worst about you, but I also see the best in you.  I long for you to trust ME enough to be fully yourself with Me.  When you are real with Me, I am able to bring out the best in You: the very gifts I have planted in your soul.  Relax and enjoy our friendship....Revelation 17:14; John 15:13-15

God'sTiming...

God Listens...

"I cry out to the LORD; I pray to the LORD for mercy."  Psalm 142:1

I can talk to God because HE listens.  My voice matters in heaven.  God takes me very seriously.  When I enter HIS presence, God turns to me to hear my voice.  No need to fear that I will be ignored.  Even if I stammer or stumble, even if what I have to say impresses no one, it impresses God and HE listens.  God listens to the painful plea of the elderly in the rest home.  God listens to the gruff confession of the death-row inmate.  When the alcoholic begs for mercy, when the spouse seeks guidance, when the business man steps off the street into the chapel, God listens.  (Grace For The Moment - Max Lucado, January 1)
